President of the Nigerian Senate, Bukola Saraki is claiming that he is more capable to lead Nigeria than President Muhammadu Buhari.
Stating this on Saturday at a meeting which held in Ekiti State, Saraki said that the People’s Democratic Party PDP needs an experienced, young and capable candidate to stand as its flagbearer and winner of the forthcoming general elections in 2019.
While speaking, Saraki also noted that Nigerians require a capable leader that can place the country in a positive limelight and guarantee a strong stance internationally.
“Nigeria needs to be placed on the right path and to achieve this we need a leader that represents and guarantee a strong presence of Nigeria in the international arena”
“We must equally have a a leader that is capable and has the ability to lead this country. Thus I am the right for this position and I urge you all to support me in my bid to become President”
Saraki also explained that in present times, politics in the country has risen above sentiments or loyalty to a particular faction but must be done in consideration of the citizens.
“Nigerian politics must not be based on sentiments but on the basis that everyone one in the country must have a sense of belonging. We can chose to be loyal but this must not be done at the expense of Nigerians” ,he said.
Responding, Ekiti state Governor, Dr. Ayodele Fayose reiterated that Ekiti would speak with one voice during the primaries
He equally noted that PDP must remain united after the primaries saying “the whole world is watching PDP because this is a critical time and we must remain united by supporting any candidate that emerges winner of the primaries”
“Thus all PDP presidential aspirants must support the winner and collectively win the 2019 general elections”, he said.
Present at the meeting include Former Ministers, Serving Senators, Ekiti state Council Chairmen, Members of Ekiti state House of Assembly and other dignitaries.
