Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC), Prof. Yakubu Mahmood has on Monday, January 7th revealed the total number of registered voters for the 2019 general elections.

How Many People Are Expected To Vote At The 2019 Elections?

Mahmood revealed that the total number of voters registered for the 2019 general elections is eighty-four million, four thousand and eighty-four(84,004,084).

The number of registered voters for the 2015 elections was sixty-nine million, seven hundred and fifty thousand, three hundred and twenty(69,750,320). The figure for the 2019 elections is an increase of over fourteen million, two hundred and eighty-three thousand, seven hundred and thirty-four(14,283,734) from four years ago.

When Are The Elections Holding?

According to information released by INEC in its timetable, the Presidential and National Assembly elections will hold on Saturday, 16th of February, while the Governorship, House of Assembly and FCT local council elections will hold on the 2nd of March.

INEC revealed that the collation of votes cast at the 2019 elections, like the 2015 elections will be done at the International Conference Centre(ICC), Abuja.
