Bolaji Abdullahi, a former National Publicity Secretary has announced his interest in becoming the next governor of Kwara State under the aegis of the PDP.

Abdullahi made this known today in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital in front of journalists and his supporters.

The former Minister of Sports and Youth Development emphatically stated his drive towards integrating Kwara State youths into the system.

He said his goal as Governor is simple and it’s all about youth development.

Abdullahi observed that fifty-four(54)% of Kwara State population lies between ages 0-19 and that has to be maximally domiciled upon.

In his remarks, he said;

“I am contesting this election on the basis of youth inclusiveness. In all my years of service, I learned that the biggest assets that Kwara has is her youths. Fifty-four percent of Kwara State population is between the age of 0-19. My number one agenda if I emerge Governor of Kwara State is youth development, my number second agenda is youth development, and my number third agenda is youth development.

Speaking on the opposition party, he said, “Those calling for liberation, I have two response for them. My father was a tailor and farmer. Saraki never asked who my father was before he appoints me Commissioner, they are only sad because Saraki is transforming the life of the poor and making nobody somebody. They are only lying to you, this is only were you can get freedom.

“They said they will liberate the people from Saraki, but is that good health, quality education and infrastructural development? I urged you all to support Bolaji Abdullahi has governor and I hope you will one day bring out these manifesto for reference,” he concluded.

Speaking to exalt the eventual candidacy of Abdullahi, his campaign manager said he is behind him because of his unarguable marketability, championing the “Omoluabi”” cause and becoming the true leader Kwarans have always clamoured for.

Present at the ceremony were Isiaka Gold, Special Assistant to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Muyideen Akorede and Special Assistant to the Governor on Culture and Tourism, and actor, Femi Adebayo.
