Jamal Khashoggi had entered the Saudi Arabia Consulate on the 2nd of October and that was the last time anybody saw him.
United States Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo has visited Saudi Arabia and Turkey as the search for Khashoggi’s body intensifies.
With accusations flying about, Saudi Arabia are under immense pressure with forces searching their building consistently to see if Khashoggi’s body will be found.
Turkey President, Recep Tayip Erdogan has accused Saudi of foul play in the journalist’s death, insisting Khashoggi was tortures to death while POTUS, Donald Trump has been pointed for trying to provide cover for Saudi.
The Saudis have also strongly disclaimed condemnations and accusations coming from the international community and the press and threatened to go violent if their stand is not respected in the case.
Khashoggi was a journalist who was favoured by the Saudi government until he wrote articles, pointing at the need for Press freedom in Saudi and the entirety of the Middle East. He left Saudi Arabia afterwards for the United States where he has been a resident.
His death has thrown the world in limbo as the search for his body intensifies amidst growing concerns about Saudi’s complicity.
Trump has denied trying to protect Saudi Arabia, insisting he only wanted to ensure things are done the right way.
