Lanre Issa-Onilu, from Kwara State has emerged as the National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
The new development brings an end to the short, yet impressive stint of Yekini Nabena who served as the party’s Spokesman in an acting capacity.
Issa-Onilu lost to Bolaji Abdullahi, also from Kwara State at the primaries but the latter has since defected to the PDP alongside his principal, Bukola Saraki.
The University of Lagos graduate is a journalist who is greatly experienced in public communication and strategic planning having attended some of the best institutions abroad.
He holds a Master’s in Integrated Marketing Communications from West Virginia University, US.
He was an assistant editor of Sunday ThisDay. Before he joined ThisDay, he was news editor at the Comet Newspapers.
Issa-Onilu is a corporate member of the International Communications Conference (ICC) at the Baruch College Ssate university of New York, US. He is also an associate member of the Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON) and an associate member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA).
He has written quite a number of papers on crisis communication and public communication among others.
