The leadership of the All Progressives Congress has met with the candidate of the SDP, Iyiola Omisore over reaching a truce ahead of Thursday’s rerun.
National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, Ekiti State Governor-elect, Kayode Fayemi, Governor Ganduje of Kano State, Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State, Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed, Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State and some others met the former Osun State Deputy Governor in Osogbo, the Osun state capital.
Omisore polled 128,049 votes in Saturday’s election and has been seen by political analysts cum pundits to hold the ace in Thursday’s election.
Unconfirmed reports have pointed towards an agreement being reached by both parties, with Omisore now widely believed to be ready to work with the APC.
The PDP polled 254,698, a figure which is 353 votes above APC’s 254,345.
Ife North and South LGAs believed to be Omisore’s stead have some of the polling units where rerun will be held, with others being Orolu and Osogbo Local Governments.
Saraki had on Monday, met with Omisore to discuss his support for the party in Thursday’s rerun, with details of the meeting still sketchy.
Omisore had revealed he will work with any party and candidate who has interests of the people at heart.
