Babayo Gamawa, the suspended Deputy National Chairman of the PDP(North) has defected to the APC.
Gamawa was hosted by President Buhari at his Aso Rock residence in Abuja. He was accompanied to Aso Rock by Mohammed Abubakar, Bauchi State Governor, and Aliyu Kaulaha, a Board of Trustee member of the PDP who also defected to the APC.
Why Did The PDP Suspend Gamawa?
Babayo Gamawa was suspended by the PDP for his engagement in ”anti-party activities and dereliction of duties”.
Kola Ologbondiyan, the National Publicity Secretary of the party made this known in a statement where he revealed Gamawa’s suspension.
“The NWC found merit in the petition on allegation of dereliction of duty and anti-party activity as contained in Section 58 (1) e, f, g, h of the PDP Constitution,
Has Gamawa’s Move Opened The Political Transfer Window?
Gamawa’s move came barely 24-hours after his suspension from the PDP, and his move has been followed by that of the defection of PDP Chieftains in Sokoto.
Nasiru Tambuwal, Legal Adviser of the PDP in Sokoto State defected to the APC alongside PDP chieftains, and thousands of other members of the PDP.
